Every Stoke race runs on land someone else takes care of, with help from people who believe in it. These are the groups we put our money and our time behind, and the partners behind every race.

MOUNTAIN

In 1942 the Army built Camp Hale at 9,200 feet below Tennessee Pass to train soldiers to fight in the mountains on skis. The 10th Mountain Division took Riva Ridge in Italy in February 1945. The men who came home built Vail and much of the American ski industry, and the division still serves today out of Fort Drum, New York.

The 10th Mountain Division Foundation keeps that legacy going. It funds outdoor programs for soldiers and veterans, cares for memorials from Tennessee Pass to Fort Drum, backs history work with History Colorado and the Denver Public Library, and gives scholarships to descendants of the division and to military history students.

Scott Schrader of The Stoke Fine Racing Events is a 10th Mountain Division combat veteran. The Tenth, our race weekend in the Vail Valley, is built around this history, and the Foundation is where our support goes first.
